Warangal: Adding auspiciousness to politics, the district Mahila Congress president, Poshala Padma Goud, has chosen ‘Sravana Shukrvaram’ to announce Mahila Congress district body, with 13 vice-presidents.

During a press conference at Congress Bhavan in Hanamkonda, she announced the jumbo committee of the district Mahila Congress comprising 51 office bearers.

It consists of 18 general secretaries and 20 secretaries thoroughly following the caste equations. Of the 51 mandals in the district, she appointed mandal party presidents to 37 mandals.

Speaking on the occasion, Padma Goud informed that the appointments were made with consent from the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee Mahila Congress chief Nerella Sharada.

The new committee would strive to strengthen the party at grassroots level by taking up various programmes.

Party workers would go into the people with the message that the welfare of the women would only be possible with Congress party.

The formation of separate State of Telangana was possible because of a woman, Sonia Gandhi, the AICC chief, she added.

Though the women in the State have voted for TRS, there was not a single female minister in the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao’s cabinet to represent them and to address their problems, Padma Goud lamented.

The party leaders M Shoba Rani, Naseem Jaha, B Kalyani, Parvatamma, Mary and others were present.
