Hyderabad: With Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting Hyderabad on Sunday to address a BJP meeting, the police have made elaborate security arrangements.

With the data of about 50,000 criminals and anti-social elements in its possession, the city police is all set to use Facial Recognition Software (FRS) to apprehend any person who behaves abnormally.

About 5,000 police personnel would be deployed apart from the massive troops of armed forces near LB Stadium for the PM’s maiden visit to city.

The police are expecting over one lakh public to attend the meeting at LB Stadium. With the newly acquired FRS, the police have installed the software in the central database servers, which would recognize the suspects and alert the nearest police person.

“The new software has been installed in the central server. It gathers images from 80 CC cameras fixed in and around the stadium and alerts whenever suspicious movements are recorded.

We have database of around 50,000 offenders and suspects. The software sends the picture of suspect to the mobile phone of the nearest police personnel using GPS,” said a senior police officer.

Apart from this, bomb squads, metal detectors and dog squads are being put in place along with the force.
The city police however put restrictions on vehicular movement near LB Stadium to avoid traffic jams on Sunday.

The restrictions would be imposed from 3 pm to 7 pm . At some places, traffic diversions and restrictions are also in place.

The police appealed the public to avoid the Rajbhavan route from Green Lands Hotel from 2 pm. At AR petrol pump traffic would not be allowed towards BJR statue and diverted towards Nampally or Ravindra Bharati. Traffic coming from Abids and Gunfoundry side would not be allowed towards BJR Statue and it would be diverted at Gunfoundry towards Chapel road.

The vehicular traffic coming from Basheerbagh towards GPO would be diverted towards Hyderguda and King Koti road. The vehicles coming from Old MLA quarters towards Basheerbagh would be diverted towards Himayathnagar Y junction and traffic coming from King Koti to Basheerbagh would be diverted towards Tajmahal.

The traffic moving from Liberty junction towards Basheerbagh would be diverted towards Himayathnagar and vehicles moving towards Basheerbagh from traffic control room would also be diverted towards Nampally.Only delegates and pass holders of the meeting would be allowed to travel towards LB Stadium, the police said.
