Nalgonda: Telangana Padmashali Association state secretary Miryala Yadagiri demanded that the government should support the weavers’ community in all aspects to avoid migrations and suicides.

On the occasion of Handloom Day, weavers and associated cloth merchants and workers have organised Handloom Walk in the town on Sunday.

Before commencing the walk, they garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, made with yarn. Later they walked through the main streets of the town and reached the Collector camp.

They submitted a memorandum of their demands to the Collector P Satyanarayana Reddy.

On this occasion, the Collector unveiled a songs CD, titled ‘Nethannaku salam’, penned by Ganji Srinivas.
