Hyderabad: Congress party on Monday alleged that the bonhomie displayed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao upon the former’s visit to Telangana was a clear indication of their alliance in the near future.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy said that Narendra Modi and KCR both tried to take credit for the projects that were started during the Congress regime in the State. He said that the entire programme saw the PM and the CM heaping praises on each other. “This is an indication that the TRS would sail with the BJP in near future,” he said.

  • Dubs PM’s love for minorities and Dalits ‘fake’
  • Demands White Paper on central funds for TS

The TPCC chief lamented that Pranahita Chevella and Bayyaram Steel plants and other contentious issues were more important for the state, but neither Modi nor KCR spoke on these issues and rather chose to remain silent. He alleged that the state government had changed the name of the project to Mission Bhageeratha which was started by the Congress government and named it after great leader Moulana Abul Kalam Azad.

He lashed out at the state government for laxity in taking proper action against a local BJP MLA who supported beating of Dalits in the name of cow on social media. He alleged that KCR government was strengthening fascist forces in the state. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition in Telangana State Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir described Prime Minister Narendra Modi's love for Dalits and Minorities as fake.

“The Prime Minister neither reacted on Rohit Vemula’s suicide nor did he act on the Dadri incident when Akhlaq Hussain was lynched to death in the name of ‘Gau Raksha’. It was his silence that encouraged attacks on Dalits and Minorities. He indirectly supported the acts of violence and is now shedding crocodile tears to hide his failures,” he said while speaking to media at CLP office in Assembly.
