Nalgonda: With a hope to see the next Pushkaralu also, the 110-year-old Ramavath Bhojya Naik, took the holy dip at in Nagarjuna Sagar on Friday.

A tribal man from Enameedi thanda of Tungaturthy, Peddavoora mandal in Nalgonda district, Ramavath saw nine Krishna Pushkaralu and never failed to take the holy dip.

Though his native place was Sunkesula, he has to migrate to his present residing village as Sunkesula was submerged due to the construction of Nagarjuna Sagar project.

He was also worked as a labor for the Project. His parents used to take him for the dip in Krishna River, near his house in his childhood and the tradition continued. Ramavath has six sons and three daughters.

Speaking to The Hans India, Ramavath Bhojya Naik lauded the government for the arrangements made at the pushkar ghats. “I am very happy that today also I can take the bath myself without any help.

I feel lucky if God let me live till the next Krishna Pushkaralu,” he added.
