Also the officials claim that VIPs and common people would be treated equally was limited to statement only.

Devotees were shocked to know that there were no buses to take them to Pushkar ghats from various bus depots in the district. They were unhappy as they couldn’t take the holy dip in the early hours of Friday, which is considered to be auspicious hours.

One of the RTC officials, on the lines of anonymity, informed that the district administration directed them to run buses to the Pushkar ghats after 11 am to avoid rush at major ghats in the district.

The temple authorities allowed the devotees at 8.30 am only to please Minister Jagdish Reddy and other VIPs, the pilgrims alleged.

On the other hand, several pundits, disappointed over the facilities provided for performing ‘pinda pradanam’ rituals at Nagarjuna Sagar and Mattapalli, staged protests and demanded the officials for arranging necessary amenities to them.

Devotees faced drinking water problem at Wadapally major Pushkar ghat. The permanent taps provided at seven ghats for uninterrupted drinking water supply to pilgrims have failed to function.

Veterans and PHCs are suffered a lot to reach Pushkar ghats in Nagarjuna Sagar, Mattapalli and Wadapalli from parking points, which are 1.5 km far from the destination points.

Devotees from Kanagal and surrounding areas returned homes disappointed without taking holy dip at Kanagal and Darveshpuram Pushkar ghats as there was no water.

The officer in-charge of Kanagal Pushkar ghat and MPDO Satyamma informed that water was released and will reach the ghat by Saturday morning.

The devotees were forced to take bath in a temple pond with three feet deep water at Panagal ghat located in Nalgonda municipal limits.
