On the occasion of 70th Independence Day, Smt. Aruna Bahuguna, Director of the Academy unfurled the National Flag and addressed the IPS Probationers of 68 RR and 67 RR

On the occasion of 70th Independence Day, Smt. Aruna Bahuguna, Director of the Academy unfurled the National Flag and addressed the IPS Probationers of 68 RR and 67 RR, Officers of Bhutan, Nepal and Maldives. She complimented the Probationers and Outdoor Trainer staff for high quality of turn-out and parade.

She announced the Government of India’s decision regarding award of Indian Police Medals for Distinguished Service and Meritorious Service on the occasion of the Independence Day 2016 to the following NPA faculty and staff:

President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service (PPMDS):

1) Shri Rajeev Sabharwal, IPS, Joint Director
2) Shri P. Nagabhushanam, Sub Inspector.

Police Medal for Meritorious Service (PMMS):
1) Shri Ravindra M.L, Assistant Director.
2) Shri Prakash Chand Rathor, Inspector.
3) Shri M.R. Reddy, Head Constable (ADI).
4) Shri Man Singh Thapa, Head Constable (Band)

During her address,

Director remembered the words of Rabindranath Tagore’s all time universally favourite song ekla chalo re, if no one responds to your call, then walk, move forward, alone.

Director appreciated that one of the Probationers teaches the children of staff every evening and stated that, he goes to bed every night satisfied that he has done his own small bit to make this world a better place.

Director further remembered the comments of the Mahatma Gandhi that “first they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win”.

Director further welcomes the children from surrounding schools and differently abled children to join the celebrations and stated that children are the future of our country and special to us. They will join hands with us in our effort to make ours a great nation. Each one has his or her talents, develop them to the full.

The parade was followed by colourful programmes by the children of the Ashray Akruti School of Hearing Impaired, School of Blind of Devnar Foundation, Ranigunj, Balniwas Children Home, Shivarampally and Kendriya Vidyalaya, SVP NPA. Musical chair conducted by the Samvedi Society and UAC demonstrations, Tug of War events by the Probationers. A blood donation programme was also conducted and the Probationers, Faculty and the staff have voluntarily participated and donated the blood.
