Assistant Police Commissioner, Kazipet, B Janardhan, has been selected for Indian Police Medal (IPM) in recognition of his outstanding services.He would receive the medal from the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, at Independence Day celebrations at Golconda Fort in Hyderabad. He hails from Vinikepally of Saidapur mandal in Karimnagar district. 

Warangal: The Warangal range DIG, T Prabhakar Rao, has been selected for the Police Medal for Gallantry given by Union Ministry of Home Affairs for the year 2016. The DIG was selected for the honour in recognition of his outstanding services and courage in the line of duty.

The State government recommended his name for the medal for effectively leading a team of police in eliminating suspected SIMI terrorists during an encounter at Janakipuram in Nalgonda district, where he served as Police Superintendent last year. The DIG, Prabhakar Rao, hails from Neerukulla village of Atmakur mandal in Warangal district.
