Lakhs of people thronged to Ramalayam ghat at Nagarjuna Sagar to have holy dip and they have to wait in long queue at Ramalayam to have Lord’s darshan. The traffic restrictions along the road leading to bathing ghats, particularly in Nagarjuna Sagar was forced the devotees, including children and aged to walk more than one kilometer to reach the pushkar ghats. 

Nalgonda: The three main pushkar ghats in Nalgonda – Wadapally, Mattapally and Nagarjuna Sagar – witnessed such a huge rush on Sunday that the devotees have to wait for their turn to take the holy dip.Since it was an auspicious day of Ekadashi and holiday, about 3,31,133 devotees took the holy dip on the third day of Krishna Pushkaralu.

The pilgrims faced inconvenience as they have to perform the pinda pradanam ritual under the hot sun as there were no shelters.
Director General of Police Anurag Sharma along with Inspector General of Police B Shivadar Reddy and district Police Superintendent N Prakash Reddy inspected the security arrangements at the ghats.

The pilgrims who visited Chaya Someswaralayam pushkar ghat at Panagal expressed dissatisfaction as there were no facilities to perform ‘pinda pradanam’ at the ghat and it was said to be one of the reasons for the poor turnout of the pilgrims at the ghat.
