Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) is not giving any blanket certificate for TRS government’s schemes though Prime Minister has recently launched the state government’s flagship scheme Mission Bhagiratha. Speaking exclusively to The Hans India, BJP national general secretary Muralidhar Rao said the Prime Minister or Central ministers’ association with the TRS government’s schemes should be seen as part of cooperative federalism.

This does not mean that there are no lapses in the schemes, he asserted. Stating that the BJP does not hesitate to appreciate good features, if any, in the schemes of the non-BJP governments, Rao said that it should be seen as contextual, but not political. The BJP leader who hails from Telangana was commenting on the speculation over the possible BJP-TRS tie-up in the wake of new found bonhomie during Narendra Modi’s visit to the state.

While the Prime Minister has all praise for KCR government’s schemes, the state BJP president called for dislodging what he called anti-people and autocratic government headed by KCR. This contrast fuelled speculation on the BJP’s political attitude towards the TRS. Stating that the Prime Minister has only inaugurated the scheme but has not resolved that there is no corruption in it, the BJP leader claimed that the party does not forego its right to fight corruption in a scheme just because the PM had inaugurated it.

Dismissing that there is confusion among the party workers, he recalled Modi’s remarks at the party public meeting. Modi has said that he sees bright future for the BJP in Telangana. The BJP leader accused the government of abrogating the democratic traditions by stifling Opposition voices and encouraging defections. Muralidhar Rao reminded party president Amit Shah‘s criticism of TRS as a party fomenting family rule and the government saddled in corruption.
