Hyderabad: Participants who took part in the 44th batch of Vaktha felt that two days of rigorous training shed their inhibitions and transformed them into confident orators.

They said they could feel a marked change after attending the training programme organised jointly by HMTV and Kaushalya School of Life Skills on August 13 and 14.

Several aspiring politicians, teachers and social workers vowed to make an impact in the society with their enhanced communication skills.

Director (Training), Kapil Group and the lead faculty of the programme D Bal Reddy said public speaking was a skill which could only be honed by regular practice.

He gave important tips and techniques related to public speaking. “People neglect to hone their skills, but there are occasions in their lives which compel them to speak out.

Therefore, to face such a situation, everyone should get themselves prepared, lest they face failure,” he said.

S Anand Parjanya, faculty on body language, trained participants on maintaining their posture while delivering speech and communicating at a public place.

He explained as to how an orator should communicate the subject with hand and body coordination. K Srikanth, another faculty member, explained the important techniques of voice modulation.

He made students practice some of the important tips and showed how voice culture and modulation can make a person an effective public speaker.

While giving their feedback, participants who have come from various districts of the two Telugu-speaking States felt confident of addressing a huge gathering.

T Hanumanth Reddy, who worked as principal in government school and as regional inspection officer, Board of Intermediate, described the programme as well-researched, which could benefit everyone who wanted to improve themselves.

He lamented that he would have achieved greater stature had he attended a similar programme in his younger days.

K Rajendra Prasad, another participant, found the training as a morale booster for people who had stage fear. P Yadagir, from Rangareddy district, described the two-day training as an ‘eraser of misconceptions’.
