The Met department bulletin on Thursday forecast light to moderate rain/thundershowers at a few places in Telangana from August 26 to 29. The forecast warned of heavy rain at isolated places in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts on August 28 and 29.

Hyderabad: The Met department bulletin on Thursday forecast light to moderate rain/thundershowers at a few places in Telangana from August 26 to 29. The forecast warned of heavy rain at isolated places in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts on August 28 and 29.
The Met department said the upper air cyclonic circulation over the North Bay of Bengal and its neighbourhood extending up to 3.6 km above the mean sea level is persisting. The upper air cyclonic circulation over the Central Bay and its neighbourhood, now lies over the West-Central Bay off Andhra coast above the mean sea level.
Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to develop over the West-Central Bay and its neighbourhood during the next 24 hours. Rain occurred at a few places in Nizamabad, Warangal, Adilabad, khammam, Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda and Karimnagar districts during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am, with Banswada (Nizamabad), Ghanpur (Warangal) and Sirpur (Adilabad) each recording 5 cm of rainfall.
The other chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) elsewhere in the State was: Jukkal, Birkoor and Konijerla 4 cm each, Yacharam, Varni, Chennur and Ranjal 3 cm each, Boath, Bonakal, Miryalaguda, Tadwai, Nizamabad, Kotgiri 2 cm each.
