​Thorrur (Warangal): With the draft notification on creation of new districts and mandals released, several demands to make mandals revenue division headquarters have also been coming up.
The public and political parties in Thorrur mandal, a part of Warangal district now made a part of newly proposed Mahabubabad district, have been taking to the streets for the past few days seeking to make the mandal as revenue division headquarter.
In support of their demands, they have launched relay hunger strike at Thorrur on Friday under the aegis of Thorrur Division JAC.
The DCC Bank chairman and Congress leader Janga Raghava Reddy extended solidarity to the protesting JAC leaders. Speaking on the occasion, Raghava Reddy said that Thorrur got the entire required infrastructure and resources to become a revenue division headquarter.
Hence the State government should positively consider the demand, he added.
