Nizamabad: Students in large numbers led by Democratic Youth Federation (DYF) attacked a private coaching institute Vikas Academy in the town on Friday for allegedly cheating them.

Speaking to the media, district DYF president Shyam alleged that that Vikas Academy collected Rs 8000 as fee from each unemployed youth for imparting coaching in civil services and Group-I examinations.

However, they did not conduct the classes and complete the syllabus on time, he added. When the students demanded an explanation as to why the entire syllabus was not completed, the managers of the Vikas Academy reportedly told them arrogantly that they would cancel the remaining classes.

This infuriated the students who went and complained to the DYF leaders. They reached the coaching centre and sat on a dharna in front of the office.

They also burnt the pamphlets of the institute. As a result, the managers of the Academy came out and pacified the students. They assured them that classes woule be conducted and the syllabus would be completed on time.
