Appointment of APP for RR sessions court stayed

Justice M S Ramachandra Rao of the High Court at Hyderabad on Wednesday stayed the appointment of the Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) in the Ranga Reddy District Sessions Court.

The judge made the order while admitting a writ plea filed by the present Additional Public Prosecutor Ravula Venkat Reddy, who questioned the order of the government, shortening the term the petitioner. He also challenged the appointment made in favour of K Raji Reddy.

The fresh appointment was challenged on the ground that it was contrary to the procedure under the Criminal Procedure Code and also contrary to the earlier order of appointment in his favour.
