Hyderabad: The People’s Tribunal on Wednesday released its report on ‘caste discrimination and police action’ at the University of Hyderabad (UoH).
In its report, the Tribunal made several recommendations, which include instituting Equal Opportunities Cell and Grievances Redressal Cell. Beyond administrative measures,
the tribunal also issued a note of caution to the (UOH) saying, “university was not a factory to manufacture robots, and it is a place to develop a critical mind. Everyone has a right to dissent,” it added.
The People’s Tribunal had its sitting on April 16 in the city organised by teachers, activists and lawyers of Hyderabad.
