Mahabubabad (Warangal): A senior physical science teacher Voore Gurunadha Rao of the district has been selected for the Statelevel ‘Best Teacher Award’ under the category of National Foundation For Teacher Welfare-2016.

Working at the Zilla Parishad High School at Kambalapally in Mahabubabad mandal, he joined the Education Department in 1997 and has an experience of 19 years as teacher.

He holds M Phil in Physics and Education. Gurunatha Rao is the founder president of Disha Social Organisation working at Mahabubabad and received accolades for his social work in the field of environment protection. He is a National Green Corps master trainer and member of INSPIRE district committee.

He has presented nearly 60 research papers at various national and international conferences and authored several textbooks. He is life member of Indian Association of Physics Teachers, Indian Science Congress Association and Indian Science Writers Association. Several students who were trained by him excelled at national level scientific events.

In the past, Gurunatha Rao received district best teacher award in the years 2008 and 2015. He will receive the award, comprising a medal, certificate and cash reward of Rs 10, 000 at a ceremony to be held in Hyderabad on September 8.
