Hyderabad: Asking Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao why he was apathetic towards Gadwal, senior Congress leader and Gadwal MLA DK Aruna alleged that the Chief Minister kept Gadwal aside with a grudge.

Speaking to the media at Assembly Media Hall here on Wednesday, Aruna said it was not proper on the part of the Chief Minister to keep Gadwal aside in a review meeting stating that all 6,000 objections came from a single person. She said huge number of objections had come against the proposed Wanaparthy district.

“Is it possible to lodge 6,000 appeals from a single person in online?” she questioned the Chief Minister. Aruna condemned the Chief Minister for speaking in a harmful manner against the self respect of others.

Asking the Chief Minister to remember his remarks against the Congress and AICC chief Sonia Gandhi, Aruna said sentiment for Gadwal district was rising day by day among the people.

It was not correct on the part of the government to create new districts for the sake of politics, she said and demanded that the government create new districts for the benefit of people and not for the benefit of leaders.

Insisting the government to tell whether it had conducted any ‘gram sabha’ on creating new districts, Aruna said the government had to reorganise districts taking public opinion into consideration.
