Luxettipet (Adilabad): The Social and Tribal Welfare departments have introduced an innovative scheme called ‘Green Guru’ through which students will be selected to teach the students of the same class in any Gurukula Pathasala.

The selected students will have to teach in any Gurukula Pathasala for seven days. Each of them will be paid Rs 500 per day and they would get Rs 3,500 on each assignment. As the selected students are supposed to teach the students of their class, they may not find it difficult. Moreover, it would help improving their self-confidence and oratory skills.

So far, three ‘little gurus’ have been selected in the district. Of them, Ramya, class IX student of Boath Gurukula Pathasala, has been entrusted with teaching for the students of her class at Chennur Gurukula Pathasala as ‘Green Guru’. She belongs to an agriculture family of Marthidi, a remote village in Bejjur mandal. She is now an inspiration to many students. Ramya aspires to become a teacher.

Expressing happiness on being selected as ‘Green Guru’ Ramya said that she was enjoying teaching fellow-students. She added that she liked teaching profession very much as it can elevate the lives of so many. Chennur school principal Swaroopa Rani expressed happiness over the way how Ramya was able to teach.
