Palakurthy/Warangal: Union Minister of State for Food Processing Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti has called upon the public in Telangana to fight to end the family rule while referring to the TRS regime in the State.

She said the formation of separate Telangana was not meant for the benefit of a family while expressing concern over rule of a family in Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.

She ridiculed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘khaat sabha’ held recently in Uttar Pradesh. Niranjan Jyoti was here to attend the BJP’s Tiranga Yatra held to commemorate Telangana Liberation Day and its martyrs.

She took part in a programme held at Palakurthi on Saturday to observe 31st death anniversary of Chakali Ilamma, who fought against Nizams’ rule.

She offered tributes to Ilamma and garlanded her statue at Rajiv Chowrastha and later addressed a public meeting. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister noted that the Telangana people have to draw inspiration from Telangana martyrs and fight against the family rule by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

During the struggle against Nizam’s tyrannical rule, hundreds of martyrs laid down their lives but sadly their sacrifices were not being honoured. The successive governments in the region have failed to celebrate Telangana Liberation Day officially to respect the martyrs, Niranjan Jyoti pointed out.

She asserted that the fruits of development should reach all. The Central government led by BJP has succeeded in offering corruption-free governance. During Congress rule, scams were used to be the order of the day, she added.

BJP State president K Laxman said the TRS which before coming to power demanded for celebration of Telangana Liberation Day officially has forgotten about it after assuming power.

The TRS leadership which joined hands with MIM for vote bank was neglecting sentiments of people. The politics of Telangana were revolving around KCR’s family and was not good for democracy, he added.

Meanwhile, at district headquarters hundreds of BJP workers and leaders took out ‘Tiranga Yatra’ from District Collectorate in Hanamkonda to SV Patel Chowk in Warangal town.

Party leaders N Indrasena Reddy, M Dharma Rao, T Rajeswar Rao, Ch Sunil, J Ranjith and others took part.
