Hyderabad: Maharashtra Water Resources Minister Baban Rao Lonikar appreciated the Telangana government for its flagship programme of Mission Bhagiratha and said the Maharashtra government would replicate the same in his State.Baban Rao on Sunday made a visit to Peddareddypet at Pulkal mandal of Medak district and inspected the works of water scheme including intake wells.

He praised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for taking up potable water scheme which would prove handy for the people in the State. Despite being a new State, Telangana was making better efforts to provide safe and purified drinking waters, he said.

Chandrashekar Rao’s rule is good and I will raise the issue in our Cabinet to adopt the similar scheme in our State,” he noted. He also recalled that his government had pressed in trains to supply drinking waters to the people of Lathur in Maharashtra hit by drought for three years.
