Hyderabad: Stating that not even 25 entrepreneurs secured loans from the State Finance Corporation for decades in undivided Andhra Pradesh, resulting in injustice to two-three generations, Nizamabad MP K Kavitha on Tuesday said the TRS government had taken steps to support the industrialists in the State.

Speaking at a function to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Telangana Jagruthi and Telangana Industrialists Federation (TIF) for providing training in skill development to tailor to the needs of the industry in the State, Kavitha said, “Hyderabad was fifth best city in the country with many industries.

The AP State Finance Corporation which came into existence in 1959 did not lend assistance to even 25 entrepreneurs from Telangana and this had led deprivation of justice for two to three generations,” she said. She said the State government was committed to support the budding entrepreneurs. She called upon the youth to aspire to become industrialists rather than seeking a job.

Kavitha further said the State government would take the responsibility of supporting the expansion plans of the existing industries and provide them with more facilities. The government was planning to rationalise the property tax after studying the system being adopted in other States, she added.

She said the property tax issue was also under consideration of the Chief Minister and soon a decision would be taken. The Chief Minister, she said, wanted to ensure that at least one industry in every district is established, instead of allowing concentration of development in and around Hyderabad.

Kavitha expressed unhappiness over the schools not taking the students on industrial tours. “When I was in school, we were taken to Amber biscuit company… my son is in eighth standard and he studies in an international school… but he doesn’t know what an industry is,” she said. The government, Kavitha said, was trying to ensure quality education and hence had streamlined the engineering colleges. Colleges, which were promoting quality education, would be encouraged.

The Telangana Jagruthi, she said, was trying to promote skill development to promote industry. She called upon the TIF office- bearers to include all industrialists from the State in their body.Bhongir MP B Narsaiah Goud and OSD to the Chief Minister Deshapati Srinivas also spoke.
