Kallur (Khammam): The all party leaders observed bandh here on Wednesday, protesting against the government’s resolve to create Wyra sub-division ignoring Kallur. Reorganisation of revenue districts and revenue divisions taken up by the TRS government is causing a lot of confusion among general public.
As the district is all set to be divided into Khammam and Kothagudem districts, Sattupalli constituency, which was hitherto under Khammam division, is being made as part of Wyra division. People here feel that it will be difficult for the people of Sattupally, Vemsuru and Madhira mandals to come all the way to Wyra. Hence, creation of Kallur division with all these mandals instead of Wyra would be a reasonable solution to the issue.
MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah said that the ruling party is trying to make the whole process of reorganisation, a farce. He demanded that Kallur should be made the new division instead of Wyra as proposed earlier.
