Hyderabad: Expressing dissatisfaction over the ongoing investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) into the deeds of slain gangster Nayeemuddin, LB Nagar MLA R Krishnaiah on Friday demanded an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or a sitting judge of the Supreme Court.

Krishnaiah alleged that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi was taking undue advantage of the situation and trying to link political opponents in Nayeem’s case. The TRS had been making all attempts to ensure that there was no Opposition in Telangana and was resorting to blackmailing them.

He said that the government was deliberately linking his name in the case and was trying to implicate him as he did not succumb to the allurements and pressures of the ruling party to quit TDP and join the TRS. He was being targetted since he was a BC leader, he said.

“As a people’s representative, several people come to me seeking solutions to their problems. I never accepted funds. People know about me. I will file defamatory case in the High Court and Supreme Court against certain media organisations for trying to defame my loyalty towards public,” the MLA said while addressing media.

He demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao order a CBI inquiry into Nayeem’s case to bring out the facts and put them in public domain. Majority of the politicians linked to Nayeem were from ruling party and it did not behove good for a CM to be partial in such matters, Krishnaiah said.
