Warangal: Launching a scathing attack on TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, BJP national president Amit Shah said that Rao was scared of Owaisi brothers.
Addressing a mammoth crowd of BJP workers and sympathisers at Hanmakonda, Amit Shah said that most of KCR’s policies are dependent on the likes and dislikes of the Owaisi brothers.
KCR, he said, had failed to understand the sentiments of people and hence was not celebrating the Liberation Day. He said this was the day when people got liberation from the tyranny of the Nizam.
While Karnataka and Maharashtra were celebrating September 17 as Liberation Day officially, what prevented KCR from celebrating the day to remember the martyrs who had died fighting the Razakars, he asked.
Calling upon the people to strengthen the hands of BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ensure the party comes to power at Centre and in Telangana, Amit Shah said that BJP if voted to power would celebrate Telangana Liberation Day officially.
The BJP chief said that KCR should remember that it is the people of the state who had made him the Chief Minister and not Owaisi brothers.
The BJP president listed out the assistance the Centre had extended to the new state during the last two-and-a-half years.
The Centre had given Rs 90,000 crore to the state government but the benefits of this had not reached the poor, the downtrodden and those for whom it was intended to, he said.
Though Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced several welfare schemes for the common man, the Telangana government did nothing to take them to the genuine beneficiaries.
“Where did this money go,” Shah asked the gathering.” He then said that since coming to power KCR had been indulging in “buying leaders” from parties like the TDP, Congress and YSRCP.
No one would shift loyalties for nothing. The money given by the Centre was being used for horse-trading, he alleged.
Stating that KCR should understand that one cannot be in power by buying leaders from other parties, the BJP chief said people of Telangana have understood the real face of KCR.
They have also realised that he was stalling the implementation of central schemes meant for the benefit of farmers, youth and poorer sections of society.
The Prime Minister was coming out with welfare schemes every 15 days but sadly they are not reaching the targeted sections in Telangana. Even the benefits of Fasal Bhima Yojana had not reached the farmers.
KCR had promised crop loan waiver before the elections but the promise has not yet been fulfilled, he said.He called upon the people to take a vow to strengthen the BJP and bring it to power in the state in 2019 if they want development and bring honour for the martyrs who fought against the tyrannical rule of Nizams.
