An advocate of girl child education

Adilabad: A lorry driver has proved to be a true advocate of girl child education as he enrolled his three daughters in colleges despite a huge financial burden on him. His daughters are living up to his expectations by shining in academics. Fatima, daughter of Akthar Hussain, got eighth rank in Telangana EAMCET 3. The girl, who secured 10 Grade Point Average in SSC, studied in Sri Chaitanya College. Hussain toiled to pay the college fee of his daughter.

His eldest daughter is studying engineering in AMR Institute of Technology. The second daughter is a degree student. His wife died eight years ago. After his wife’s death, the lorry driver is also doing the domestic chores to ensure that his daughters' studies are not affected. Hussain, who does not have own house, spends all his earnings on running the family and education of his three daughters.

Speaking to The Hans India, Hussain said: “My only aim is to impart good education to my daughters to enable them to achieve self-reliance and empowerment. It will be helpful if the State Government provides financial assistance for my daughters' education.’’

Expressing happiness over her achievement, Fatima said: ``I will strive to realize the dreams of my father. I want to become a cardiologist and serve the poor and needy people. My father’s burden of running the family will be less if the State Government extends financial aid to me to pursue medicine.’’
