Heavy rain damages roads in Tandur
With the water bodies getting heavy inflows, floodwater is overflowing the roads. The Tandur-Kagna bridge linking Tandur with Palamuru suffered a breach. Officials said it would take between 15 and 20 days to repair the bridge and restore traffic on it. The Manasanapalli Vagu is also overflowing, affecting vehicular traffic.Â
​Tandur: Roads in the town have suffered severe damage in the heavy rain that lashed town during the last three days, impacting the vehicular traffic to other areas in the district.
With the water bodies getting heavy inflows, floodwater is overflowing the roads. The Tandur-Kagna bridge linking Tandur with Palamuru suffered a breach. Officials said it would take between 15 and 20 days to repair the bridge and restore traffic on it. The Manasanapalli Vagu is also overflowing, affecting vehicular traffic.
The Palamur-Tandur road link has been restored with the RTC operating its services to Palamur via Yalal mandal. The RTC officials also restored the Hyderabad-Tandur services. Residents repaired the damaged road near Muddapet through ‘shramdan’ by providing sand and stones in tractors. This has received public praise.
