Nationwide re-awakening of volunteers of India Against Corruption under the patronage of Shri Anna Hazare

​A Movement in the Making

The signs of a nationwide peaceful agitation to curb political and administrative political corruption, the demand for the appointment of Lokpal at the Centre and Lokayuktas in States are once again emerging under the leadership of Anna Hazare. It is pertinent to note that Anna Hazare has written several letters in this regard to the Prime Minister but no action has been forthcoming.

In a bid to re-organize non-political activists of India Against Corruption across India, Anna Hazare launched a website www.indiaagainstcorruption.in in Ralegan Siddhi on September 12, 2016 to initiated the process of a peaceful agitation against injustices of hapless at the local levels and to draw the attention of the Nation towards various issues that concern every Indian.

As part of the exercise and after months of intense deliberations, Anna Hazare has called upon all non-political activists of India Against Corruption to get prepared with renewed energy to raise their voice against corruption and to work for the rights of the deprived of the society.

Through a video message published on the website, Anna Hazare said that the immense synergy emanated during Janlokpal movement in 2011 from the youth against the corrupt system should not go waste.

He appealed to all non-political volunteers of India Against Corruption to register themselves with the organization through the website. For accepting any position of responsibility in the organization, as per the Code of Conduct of the organization the volunteer will have to give an oath on stamp paper that he would never contest the election on behalf of any political party.

A board comprising volunteers from different states will function on a collective leadership format of the organization through coordinators at regional, state and district levels.
