NOVEL PROTEST

Hyderabad: Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy and his followers were taken into preventive custody when they tried to protest in a novel way against the State government’s apathy towards the city roads.

To protest against the bad roads in the city, the TDP workers and leaders wanted to protest in a novel way by planting saplings in potholes on the roads in Yousufguda and Srinagar colony in Jubilee Hills area. However, the police, who got prior information, managed to foil their attempt and took them into custody.

Earlier, Revanth Reddy alleged that MA & UD Minister K Taraka Rama Rao, who promised to change the scenario of the city in 100 days, has miserably failed to keep his word. Though the roads in the city were causing hardships to the citizens, the State government was not bothered to recarpet the roads, he said. He called upon the people to accost the TRS leaders whenever they visit their areas about the bad condition of roads and the government’s criminal negligence.
