Hyderabad: Stating that countdown to doomsday has begun to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government, TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy exuded confidence that the Congress would return to power in 2019. He alleged that people from all sections were not happy in the State except Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s family after the creation of Telangana State.

Speaking at the Congress training camp for ZPTCs and MPTCs and others in Secunderabad on Monday, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that Chandrasekhar Rao did nothing to the people except making the other parties’ leaders to join the TRS by threatening them. Assuring that the Congress public representatives at the training camp, Uttam said the party would stand by their side if they faced any sort of trouble from the ruling party.

“We won’t forget the troubles being created by the ruling party leaders to our leaders. We will treat them in the same manner after coming to power along with interest,” he warned the TRS leaders. Reminding BJP national president Amit Shah’s statement at the recent Warangal meeting that the TRS government had spent Rs 90,000 crore released by the Centre to purchase legislators of other parties, Uttam Kumar said the TRS government misused the input subsidy released by the Centre instead of releasing the same to farmers.

The TRS government didn’t fulfil a single assurance made by Chandrashekar Rao during 2014 elections, he alleged, and said the farmers were facing a lot of troubles due to non-implementation of third phase of loan waiver scheme. Explaining about the irrigation projects in the State, Uttam alleged that the projects were bogus and the TRS government was distorting the history. Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao hurriedly inaugurated the projects which were already inaugurated during the previous Congress government in Mahbubnagar district reacting to Congress counter PowerPoint Presentation, he added.

Stating that the TRS government has love towards contractors than farmers, the TPCC president said that the revenue of farmers came down to half during TRS regime. The government was spending Rs 1.5 lakh crore for a mere Rs 13 lakh new ayacut in the proposed projects, he asserted. The TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy demanded the State government that it release a white paper on the funds released by the Centre to the State during past two and half years.

Digvijay Singh asked the rank and file to play proactive role in identifying the failures of the TRS government in the State. He also called upon the party to fight against the State government and stand by the farmers who would be losing land under Mallannasagar project.
