​New Delhi: Errabelli Dayakar Rao, a co-petitioner against defections of MLAs into TRS from the TDP, here on Monday, was permitted to withdraw his petition in the apex court.

The bench consisting of Justice P C Ghosh and Justice Fali Nariman also disallowed a petition filed by another TDP leader, Revanth Reddy, seeking to implead in the case.

The bench commented that there was no need for him to get impleaded in the case as the main petitioner himself was withdrawing. Jandhyala Shankar, counsel for another petitioner in the case, Congress MLA,

Sampath Kumar, informed the bench that his client had handed over the notices issued by the SC to the respondents and the Speaker of the Assembly.

The SC had issued the notices after the last hearing and asked the petitioner to personally hand over the same to the respondents and the Speaker. The case was adjourned to October 19.
