The High Court at Hyderabad reserved its orders on the petition challenging imposition of Section 144 of CrPC in Vemulaghat village of Medak district. Justice M S Ramachandra Rao, while hearing the petition filed by Y Santosh Reddy and five others on Tuesday, asked the Telangana government how long it would continue the prohibitory orders. 

The High Court at Hyderabad reserved its orders on the petition challenging imposition of Section 144 of CrPC in Vemulaghat village of Medak district. Justice M S Ramachandra Rao, while hearing the petition filed by Y Santosh Reddy and five others on Tuesday, asked the Telangana government how long it would continue the prohibitory orders.

He said continuation of the prohibitory orders even after the situation was brought under control would infringe the rights of the citizens. B Rachana, counsel for the petitioners, informed the court that the Executive Magistrate concerned has imposed the Section 144 on July 28, 2016 and till date the Section was in force though normalcy has been restored in the village.
