Hyderabad: Justice MS Ramachandra Rao of the High Court at Hyderabad on Tuesday made it clear that finalisation of the tender by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) for the MS Railing Work at IDL Lake Kukatpally would be subject to orders in a writ petition.

The judge made the order in a writ petition filed by a contractor Chandra Reddy complaining that the tender notification did not receive the same publicity and reach as required in the other contracts followed by the government such as Mission Bhagiratha.

Sampath Prabhakar, counsel for the GHMC, pointed out that the government order followed by the irrigation command area was not binding on the local civic authority and therefore, the petitioner could not insist on similar tender conditions. The judge made it clear that any finalisation of the tender was subject to further orders in the writ petition.
