KTR tells officials to expedite road works

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister K Taraka Rama Rao on Sunday directed the officials to take up road repair works in city on a war-footing. The minister held a meeting with the Municipal officials and took stock of the situation in the city. He announced that an expert committee would be constituted to monitor and guide the GHMC on the maintenance of roads.
The committee would meet every month and advise the GHMC on maintenance of roads in the city. He directed the officials to take up road repair works on a war-footing by constituting 150 special teams in each division.KTR said top priority should be given to quality in works and asked the officials to supervise the works. The staff of GHMC, which is engaged in other works, may be utilised for taking up the repair works till they were completed, the Minister added.
He also suggested utilising staff from other departments, if necessary, to ensure speedy completion of the road repair works in the city. The officials told the Minister that filling of potholes would be completed within a week.
