Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Cricket Association on Monday informed the High Court at Hyderabad that it would conduct elections to its governing bodies in accordance with the recommendations of the Lodha Committee.

Justice M S Ramachandra Rao recorded the undertaking in a writ plea filed by St. Mary's Cricket Club. The petitioner questioned the action of the HCA in postponing its biannual election beyond a specified period up to May 2017.

The petitioner contended that the amendment to the by-law was not only contrary to law but was also in violation of the procedure prescribed under the HCA by-law. The further action of the authority in registering the said by-laws without verifying whether it was in accordance with the procedure was also challenged.
