A two-judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad on Monday made it clear that it cannot grant any order in gangster Nayeemuddin case without hearing the CBI.

The bench was reacting to a public interest writ petition filed by CPI leader K Narayana, seeking an inquiry by the CBI into the matter. The petitioner was present personally to pray the court to order a speedy trial in the matter.

The bench pointed out that it would deal with the matter only according to its number. The petitioner point out that Telangana State government had constituted a Special Investigation Team that had registered 62 cases so far.

He said there were allegations of police and politicians having links with Nayeem and the latter had links with underworld.
