Mahbubnagar Superintendent of Police (SP) Rema Rajeswari received the prestigious ‘Devi National Award’ for her exemplary services towards the safety and security in society. The SP received the award on Monday in Hyderabad from Union Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu.

Mahbubnagar: Mahbubnagar Superintendent of Police (SP) Rema Rajeswari received the prestigious ‘Devi National Award’ for her exemplary services towards the safety and security in society. The SP received the award on Monday in Hyderabad from Union Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu.
Rajeswari is reckoned for her role in setting up ‘She Teams’ in Hyderabad to contain eve-teasers and other rouge elements harassing women. During her tenure in Hyderabad, Rajeshwari’s contributions in conducting the by-elections in a peaceful manner and her able efforts in resolving complex cases with intricate research have also gained her a good name in the police circles.
Rajeswari also got acclaims from all quarters for her relentless and untiring efforts during the conduct of Krishna Pushkaralu. “I feel proud to serve the people of Mahbubnagar. It is because of their blessings and support I could achieve this. I thank the entire police staff in Mahbubnagar for their support and cooperation,” said the SP.
The SP holds a Master’s degree in Police Management from Osmania University. She specialised in predictive policing and crime analysis using data. Named as the best lady IPS officer of 2009 batch while undergoing training at the National Police Academy in Hyderabad, Rajeswari had taken up several challenging tasks during her tenure. From running successful operations against unauthorised immigration agents and drug network, she has also served as an assault commander for the Grey Hounds anti-extremist force.
Devi National award is given to those women, who have contributed to the society in an innovative and dynamic manner to bring a remarkable change in society. Women from all walks of life who have exhibited exceptional deliverance and dynamism in their work are chosen for this prestigious award.
