Warangal: The district Congress president, N Rajender Reddy, has demanded the State government immediate release of funds to sanction loans through SC Corporation.Speaking to press persons in Hanamkonda on Wednesday, he alleged that the TRS government was weakening the SC, ST and BC Corporations without releasing the funds for a long time.

A large number of applications were pending with the Corporation for want of funds. Of the 32,000 applications, only 7,800 applicants were selected for sanctioning loans and of them, only handful applicants received loans, he said.

Besides the bank component of Rs 103 crore, the State government has to release Rs 77 crore towards subsidy. But only Rs 1.08 crore was released. The government, which claimed of providing loans worth Rs 8 to 10 lakh to each applicant, was actually giving loan of only Rs 1 to 2 lakh to each individual.

The distribution of loans has to be completed by March this year and notification inviting new applications has to be issued in November. But the government has failed to clear the applications pending with the corporation, the Congress leader alleged.

As a result, large number applicants, mainly youth, who wish to take up self-employment activities, have been in desperate state. The same was the condition of applicants, who applied for loans from ST and BC Corporations in the State.

The Congress party would lay siege to SC Corporation and other offices, if the loan amounts were released forthwith,” Rajender Reddy warned adding since nine months there were no funds for Abhayahastam scheme.

The Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, failed on many fronts. The cabinet ministers, though aware of the situation, do not make any make efforts to address it. Even more they could not get CM appointment, he said.

Rajender Reddy maintained that Congress party delivered every promise it made to the people with its welfare programmes like Arogya Sri and fee reimbursement. The people in the State would teach a fitting lesson to the TRS in the days to come as they understood the true nature of KCR.The party leaders P Veeraiah, EV Srinivas Rao, B Srinivas Rao and others were present.
