Expedite land acquisition, Harish tells officials
Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday directed the officials to speed up the land acquisition process for the Palamuru-Rangareddy irrigation project.

Hyderabad: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday directed the officials to speed up the land acquisition process for the Palamuru-Rangareddy irrigation project. The Minister reviewed the progress of the land acquisition of various projects and the problems that were coming in the way of land acquisition at Jala Saudha on Thursday. He directed the Special Chief Secretary S K Joshi to bring two officials from Geological Survey of India on deputation basis for completing the works faster.
The Minister said that there should not be any laxity in the approach of the officials as it was during the previous governments. He wanted them to take the help of revenue officials, local public representatives, Ministers for speeding up the land acquisition. He asked the contractors and irrigation officials to work in coordination for better results.
He asked them to convince the farmers and people to give their lands for the projects. Stating that there was a historical responsibility on the officials to complete the projects, Harish Rao asked the officials to work with more commitment. He said that he would hold the irrigation officials responsible for the delay in the completion of projects.
