​Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Thursday directed the officials concerned to immediately repair the roads damaged due to the recent torrential rains across the State.

The Minister, who reviewed the condition of damaged roads and government buildings in the recent rain havoc, said a total of 73 government buildings were badly damaged in the incessant rainfall, of which 41 were damaged in Medak district, 15 in Mahbubnagar, six each in Ranga Reddy and Nalgonda districts, four in Khammam and one in Karimnagar district.

While an estimated Rs 55 lakh was needed to be spent to take up ad hoc repair works, Rs 2.89 crore was required to recarpet the damaged roads. Jupally said some 1,524 roads at a length of 17,000 km were damaged in the rain and Rs 49.61 crore needed to take up temporary repair works.

In Medak district, 402 roads were damaged, in Nalgonda 358 km road, in Ranga Reddy 225 km, Mahbubnagar 192 km, Adilabad 53 km, Karimnagar 29 km, Warangal 91 km, Khammam 91 km and Nizamabad 83 km.
