Nizamabad: Minister for Tribal Welfare Culture and Tourism Ajmeera Chandulal urged the District Collectors to celebrate the Bathukamma festival, a festival of flowers, on a grand scale and also hold a massive rally in their respective districts.Addressing a video conference in connection with the Bathukamma festival on Friday, he said that the District Collectors should mobilise thousands of people in their respective districts and hold massive rallies on October 8 so that the Bathukamma festival gets recognition at the global level. It should be recognised as a major international tourism festival, he added.

The Tourism Minister made it clear that the District Collectors should strive to get international recognition and for this they should organise meetings and stage shows. He said that prizes would be distributed for organising the Bathukamma festivals.

The first prize of Rs 5 lakh, second prize of Rs 3 lakh and third prize of Rs 2 lakh were distributed to the organisers, he added. He said that all necessary facilities should be provided to hold the festival successfully.
