Warangal: As part of its modernisation initiative in the State, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Warangal telecom district has planned to launch ‘Fibre To The Home’ (FTTH) services for its customers. Speaking to press persons here on Tuesday, the BSNL principal general manager, K Narender said the FTTH service aims at offering high speed broadband internet and telephone services. The services would be launched in the city on Dasara festival day.

Hitherto services used to be offered via copper wires and now they would be replaced by optical fibre. The BNSL currently has 10,000 broadband customers and it was targeted to reach one lakh households across the district in the days to come.The services were being launched in association with the local cable operator, Mahati communications. Nearly 45 teams of personnel have been formed to deliver the services. The personnel would reach instantly to attend to complaints of any sort, Narender said.

With this new initiative the BSNL ensures quality services. As a promotional offer, the consumers were being offered the FTTH connections with following tariff: Rs 645 for 10 mbps speed internet with 50 GB data and Rs 1,045 for 100 GB data with 20 mbps speed, the principal general manager said.

The BSNL plans to discard previous system of sending bills physically. Henceforth all the bills would be sent by email only and the customers could pay their bills online as well, Narender added.Speaking on the occasion, MP A Seetaram Naik said though the BSNL’s financial conditions were not profitable, it was striving to serve the customers in a best manner possible. He lauded the latest FTTH initiative by the company and asked the company officials to popularise it in rural areas.
