Speaking on the occasion, Sukender Reddy reminded that CC cameras have helped the police in cracking several cases and identifying the criminals. CC cameras have played a key role in getting clues on incidents of bomb blasts in Hyderabad. Each CC camera is equal to a police constable in surveillance.Â
​Nalgonda: The Nalgonda M P Gutha Sukender Reddy underlined the need for united efforts by police and civil society organisations to turn Nalgonda as crime-free town in the State. The MP had inaugurated the CC Camera monitoring system at Town-I and Town-II police stations here on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Sukender Reddy reminded that CC cameras have helped the police in cracking several cases and identifying the criminals. CC cameras have played a key role in getting clues on incidents of bomb blasts in Hyderabad. Each CC camera is equal to a police constable in surveillance.
He reminded that the State police have been adopting new technology like surveillance gadgets in tune with the new forms of crime. CC cameras would also help in ensuring transparent and effective
administration.
CC cameras were setup in cantonment area in Hyderabad to monitor sanitation works, which was giving good results.
The MP informed that he had extended Rs 40 lakh for purchase of 158 CC cameras for Krishna Pushkaralu. After Pushkaralu were concluded, these cameras were distributed to the towns in the district to setup them at strategic points. Among them, 96 CC cameras were setup in Nalgonda town and linked with SP office, Nalgonda town-I and town-II police stations.
Superintendent of Police N Prakash Reddy informed that the government has decided to sanction Rs 50 lakh to each town in the State for setting up of CC cameras. Some persons have also voluntarily extended Rs 4 lakh for setting up CC cameras in the district. The CC cameras were setup at entrance, exit points and main centres in the towns. He explained how the police cracked some cases with CC cameras’ footage.
He also suggested the owners of shops and business establishments to install CC cameras in their shops. Nalgonda DSP S Sudhakar, Town – I Circle Inspector U Srinivas, Women PS CI Anuradha, Two town SI Nagadurga Prasad and others attended the programme.
