In all, 46 mandals in the district have shown significant increase in groundwater levels, according to compared reports of Groundwater Department for the months of May and September.

In four mandals, the water levels have gone up between 15 and 20 metres and in nine mandals it is between 10 and 15 metres.

In Chinnakodur, Kowdipally, Narayankhed, Shankarampet (A), Shivampet, Mirdoddi, Dubbak, Doulthabad, Andole, Alladurg, Kondapur, Nyalkal, RC Puram, Toopran and Zaheerabad mandals, where water levels had fallen to their lowest levels, ground water levels have significantly risen.

However, in Tekmal, Kulcharam, Chegunta, Gajwel and Ramayampet mandals, there has been slight increase in levels (less than 5 metres).
