Kamareddy: Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Mohan Lal said that Bathukamma Maha Pradarshana would be organised at the market yard premises in the town on October 8 and urged the people to participate in the celebrations on a large scale and make it a grand success. Participating in the Bathukamma celebrations at the Deputy Educational Officer’s office premises here on Tuesday, he said that Bathukamma should be celebrated in such a way as to reflect the traditions and culture of the Telangana people and make the district proud.

He said that the government would make all the necessary arrangements for holding the celebrations.
The ZP CEO said that arrangements should be made in the villages for the Nimajannam ceremony of the Bathukammas on the concluding day at the mandal level and the respective sarpanches, MPDOs and Tahsildars should take a keen interest in it. He said that rangoli competitions would be held at the mandal and village levels on October 7. As all the tanks and lakes in the villages have been filled to the brim due to the heavy rains that lashed the district, electric bulbs should be installed at the banks of the lakes, he added.
CEO Mohanlal said that the first prize of Rs 10,000 would be given to the best Bathukamma along with a silk saree, second prize of Rs 5,000 and a silk saree, and the third prize of Rs 3,000 along with a silk saree would be given. Later, the CEO inspected the weekly market yard along with RDO Nagesh Reddy and other officials.
