The Nalgonda Municipality has decided to spend some part of the amount for development of the parks in the town. The YSR Park, located at Ramnagar, couldn’t attract public since it was located four kilometers away from the town.

Nalgonda: The parks in Nalgonda municipal limits are going to get a facelift under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme.The Central government had selected the Nalgonda municipality for AMRUT scheme and Rs 37 crores have been sanctioned to the municipality under the scheme.

The Nalgonda Municipality has decided to spend some part of the amount for development of the parks in the town. The YSR Park, located at Ramnagar, couldn’t attract public since it was located four kilometers away from the town.

Keeping this in mind, the municipal authorities have decided to develop Rajiv Park, which was located on the back side of the NG College, with Rs 80 crore and also the Municipal Park beside the municipal office, with Rs 20 lakhs. The two parks, located at the heart of the town, would soon become a space for relaxation to the townies.

As per the rules and regulations, 10 per cent of the total layout area of colonies should be left for the development of parks (open space), the Municipal authorities have decided to develop 75 parks in the ventures, which sans trees and greenery. Compound walls to about 30 parks were already constructed.

Speaking to The Hans India, Municipality in-charge Commissioner Satyanarayana informed that it was decided to setup green fencing around the remaining 45 parks in the town. 10,000 saplings were being grown at Ramnagar Nursery for the purpose.

It was identified that some land encroachers were making efforts to occupy some part of the park place and the officials would plant trees around the ground i.e., green fencing to check encroachment. Also trees would be planted to develop greenery in the colony parks under Haritha Haram, he added.

The in-charge Commissioner said that the Municipality couldn’t take up the development of colony parks due to funds crunch. They could develop the parks with the funds sanctioned under AMRUT scheme, he added.
