The Tirumala TirupatiDevasthana ms (TTD) has left no stone unturned to popularise the glory of Lord of Seven Hills by spreading Venkatesw ara cult all over the world. The temple Management has initiated steps to reach out to the public and also in taking the Lord to the doorsteps of the devout. Acting upon the directions of the visionary Chief Minister Mr. N.Chandrababu Naidu, the TTD Chairman Dr. Chadalawada Krishnamurthy has taken up several novel schemes that are all set to add value to the temple management as well as the incumbent Trust Board.

While Venkateswara temples are getting ready at several places right from Kurukshetra in the north to Kanyakumari in the south, the TTD has recently laid a foundation stone for a temple in Banjara Hills area of Hyderabad. To strengthen the Bhajan culture, the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishat has not only increased the number of Bhajan troupes across Andhra Pradesh, but has also decided to spread the divine message through theatre art, thus extending helping hand to the artistes.

Recently, the long pending problems of the rural artistes was solved due to the timely intervention of Dr. Krishnamurthy, who also assured them that the amount payable to them will be deposited directly into their individual accounts. The TTD is taking all steps to reach out to the hitherto alien sections of the society that have remained distant from the Sanatana Dharma. Recently, the TTD has launched a scheme to provide stone and ‘Panchaloha’ idols of Sri Venkateswara to be consecrated at various temples.

Sri Venkateswara Institute of Traditional Sculpture and Architecture, which trains and moulds aspirants into young sculptors, also sells the idols to various temple managements. The stone deities meant for temples constructed in SC/ST colonies are provided free of cost, while the others are sold at 75 per cent subsidy. Similarly, the ‘Panchaloha’ idols are provided at 90 per cent and 75 per cent subsidy respectively for SC/ST colonies and others.

The TTD launched Sri Venkateswara Vaibhavotsavam as part of the Dharma Prachara activity to let the world know the meaning of various rituals performed in His temple. The management is keen on conducting the two-day event abroad as and when a request comes from devotes based in any country. However, the recent board meeting has resolved that such events will be conducted only if the inviting devotees take care of the sponsorship for the entire event . This is to avoid freak requests and also to ensure that the funds from the exchequer of the Lord’s temple are not misused.

City of Lakes: When the base city of Tirupati is not claim, serene and lush-green. Tirumala can not be. It is hence the TTD has taken up the mammoth task of reviving 100 tanks and lakes, to make Tirupati a ‘City of Lakes’; as envisaged by the Chief Minister Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu. The TTD will only take up the role of a coordinator in bringing together all the line departments and agencies like irrigation, tourism, forest, DWMA, Municipal Corporation of Tirupati and TUDA. The idea is to beautify the city with parks and resting areas around the water bodies thus providing a soothing ambience to the visitors.
