​Hyderabad: Telangana Congress Legislature Party (TCLP) leader K Jana Reddy, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir and other senior leaders met Congress MP and former Solicitor General Vivek Tankha, who is arguing the case pertaining to disqualification of Congress MLAs who had joined TRS, in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court will hear the case on October 19.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, Shabbir Ali said that they were hopeful of getting a favourable judgment against the legislators who defected to the ruling party in violation of law. “We will tell the Supreme Court that the Speaker has erred in merging 12 TDP MLAs with the TRS and will also question his inaction against other defectors,” he said. It may be mentioned here that 25 MLAs, 18 MLCs and four MPs had defected to the TRS.
