​Hyderabad: Markets are preparing for business in new districts. Retail traders related to textiles, automobiles, super markets, hospitality and restaurants are now downsizing their establishments in the old districts and gearing up to set up showrooms in the districts to be formed.

Sources say that this trend is visible more in Rangareddy, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Khammam, Medak, Karimnagar, Adilabad, Warangal and Mahabubnagar districts.

A wholesale readymade shop owner from Khammam, R Siva told The Hans India that since Kothagudem would become a new district, he was in the process of opening a new outlet and downsizing his establishment in Khammam as the flow of people would go down in Khammam.

A private automobile company dealer Prakash from Karimnagar said that once the new districts were formed, trade potential would come down drastically in the existing district and it had become imperative for him to open new outlets in the districts that would come into existence from Vijayadasimi.

Many retailers and malls including jewellery shops were now scouting for suitable locations in the new districts, trade sources added.

It is not just the traders alone but also various government departments which are busy preparing the grounds for coping with the requirements of the new districts. Stamps and Registration department officials said that the property registrations and land sales had gone up by 40 per cent in the proposed new districts.

Nalgonda district Registrar N Vasudeva Rao said that the property transactions in the district headquarters and its surrounding areas had witnessed a steep fall ever since the government had issued notification for new districts.

Officials of TSRTC said that they were now finalizing proposals to alter the bus routes keeping in view the occupancy rate on various routes once the new districts are formed.
