Kothagudem: Creation of smaller districts would augur well for the State, Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageswara Rao has observed, inaugurating the Collectorate and the office of Superintendent of Police in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Tuesday.The carving out of new districts is based on people’s aspirations. New districts in the State would take the administration closer to people. It would also help the administration to ensure the fruits of several welfare schemes introduced by the government reach the targeted groups,” Tummala said.

He said that due to the government’s endeavours Kothagudem would get an airport soon. This would boost the development of the region. Besides the industrial development, the government has already initiated several measures to boost the tourism in the district.The Minister thanked the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) management for its cooperation in setting up of administrative blocks of various State departments. He later wished the new Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu and Superintendent of Police Ambar Kishor Jha.

Earlier, he hoisted the national flag and also received guard of honour. Kothagudem MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao, MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, ZP Chairperson G Kavitha, legislators B Laxminarayana, Thati Venkateswarlu, Payam Venkateswarlu, Koram Kanukaiah, Banoth Madan Lal, Sunnam Rajaiah and DSP Surender Rao were present.
